TRANSFORMATION (Rom 12:2, Colossians 3:9-10 NIV, 2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV)

Transformation simply put, is the act of changing in form, shape or appearance. It is a marked change in form, nature, or appearance taking up these qualities of another.

Transformation involves two principal components, the subject and the recipient of the action. For example, we see that water in its solid form would take the shape of whatever container it is in. However, the process by which the water moved from liquid to its solid shape wasn’t sudden, it transformed.

Likewise, a believer; one who has received Jesus Christ as his saviour and Lord is on a journey of transformation. And this for him, is the process of moving from his state of comfort controlled by his physical senses and desires to the state where his live his directed according to the leading and pattern of Christ.

In transformation, the process begins first with an unseen change in nature leading to a noticeable change in character. It is an inside-out mechanism rather than an outside-in.

This is because at salvation, our spirit and in essence nature, is renewed by the spirit of God hence sealing us as new creations. However, there is a call to progress in the walk towards becoming like Christ – transforming from being governed by one system; the world to being governed and totally submitted to the system of heaven.

Hence, scripture tells us…”Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭MSG‬‬

The primary agent of transformation is the word of God. Constantly gazing into His word, life, ways and all that He he is, and asking His help through fellowship will lead any believer into becoming a transformed man.

In this quarter, friends, let your gaze ever be upon the Lord for it is only in Him that transformation truly begins and ends. It doesn’t begin neither is it sustained by personal stability, it only begins from and ends with the Lord.

Let the Lord help you begin your journey of transformation today.
